Updates for week of April 13: Water Pipe Replacements

April 13: Install and activate the hydrant located between 224 Stony Run Lane and 5G Gardens of Guilford.

The crew will shift their work to Stony Run Lane and the Gardens of Guilford. Their first task next Monday will be to replace the fire hydrant located on the right side of Stony run Lane between apartment 224 of the Lombardy and apartment 5G of the Gardens of Guildford.

All vehicles will need to vacate this Stony Run Lane location between these two apartments no later than 7 AM on Monday.  Traffic should be able to transit the location and enter/exit the Gardens of Guilford but may be delayed from time to time.  It will be very challenging for service vehicles to transit the alley behind the Tuscany so it is important that they arrive early on Monday to continue their work or access their work location from Linkwood.

WEEK OF APRIL 13: The parking area in front of the Tuscany will be needed once again to serve as a staging area. All vehicles will need to vacate the parking area by 7:00 AM. next Monday the 13th and though out the rest of the week until work is completed unless otherwise notified. It will be very challenging for service vehicles to transit the alley behind the Tuscany so it is important that they arrive early on Monday to continue their work or access their work location from Linkwood

April 14:   Following up on Monday’s installation of the a new water hydrant, from Tuesday on during the week until completed, work will focus on doing tie ins at least four sites around the parking circle of the Gardens of Guilford and completing all water pipe installation work in this location. No need to move vehicles parked around the parking circle until work starts on Tuesday. Barrels with no parking signs will be place at specific locations around the parking circle and will be in effect until pipeline installation work is completed at the Gardens of Guilford.

April 10:  the crew will be finishing up laying pipe on Tuscany Road (about 300 ft total). There are no water cut offs scheduled for today.  After completing work at the close of business today, vehicles may park on both Tuscany Road and Stoneyford as usual during the weekend and beyond.

STILL NEED TO FINISH TUSCANY ROAD: Please note however the crew will need to come back to work on Tuscany Road later on—date undetermined yet—to finalize testing and completing tie ins at Stoneyford and near the Ridgemede locations. At that date, to finalize their work, the crew will need to cut off the water supply for several hours which could affect the Gardens of Guildford, the Lombardy and maybe the Tuscany because of the interconnectedness of our water system.

We are nearing the end of our long journey of getting new water pipes install in our neighborhood. It has been challenging at times but we are near completion and will be much better for it! My estimate is that baring any unforeseen impediments, the pipeline instillation work will be completed by if not before April 24.
