Updates: End of day August 12 and All day August 13
Greetings Everyone! At the time of this writing (about 1:45-2:50 PM today) the crew is finishing up paving Linkwood all the way from University Parkway to Ridgemede and then moving on to pave Tuscany Road.
Please note the following:
Today/tonight on Linkwood Road:
(1) Hopkins House: vehicles will be able to enter/exit the two garages once the hot asphalt has harden which is estimated to be ready for transiting about 6:00 PM this afternoon.
(2) Parking on Linkwood Road. Vehicles will be able to park along the entire length of Linkwood Road from Stoneyford Road to Ridgemede Road after 6:00 PM this afternoon and from that time onward i.e., overnight and beyond.
Today/tonight on Tuscany Road:
(1) Paving on Tuscany Road: Only one lane is likely to be paved today. (The crew is unsure which side was going to paved first at the time of this writing). I’m going up to check after I finish writing this email to you all.
(2) Transit on Tuscany Road: One lane will be open for vehicles to transit later this afternoon with flaggers at both ends. Please inform drivers picking students at Calvert Lower School that they are not to drive on the hot, soft pavement. Once the pavement has hardened (takes about 3 hours), vehicles will be able to travel both directions over night, likely after 6 PM.
(3) No parking: There is to be no parking at all on the 200 block of Tuscany Road overnight from the alley just East of Ridgemede to Stoneyford road. Suggestion: park on Linkwood after 6 PM tonight overnight.
(4) Driveway to the Gardens of Guilford Garages. Vehicles should be able to enter/exit the driveway to the garages of the Gardens of Guilford after 6:00 PM this evening once the pavement has harden. All vehicles need to exit the driveway to the garages by 7:30 AM tomorrow (Thursday) morning though.
Tomorrow Thursday on Tuscany Road:
(1) Paving: The crew will complete paving the remaining lane on Tuscany Road on Thursday.
(2) Transit on Tuscany Road: One lane will be open during paving with flaggers at both ends. Once the asphalt has cooled and hardened, vehicles will be able to transit in both directions.
Tomorrow Thursday on Stoneyford Road and both North and South Stony Run Lane:
(1) Milling: The crew will start milling on Stoneyford Road and then proceed to continue milling on Stony Run Lane from the Gardens of Guilford to 39th in one day (that is the plan).
(2) No Parking: Vehicles are to exit all of Stoneyford Road and all of North and South Stony Run Lane including the right side parking loop of the Gardens of Guilford by 7:30 AM Thursday morning.
(3) Exiting/Entering on Thursday: Because of the milling on Stoneyford and then on both North and South Stony Run Lane, entering and exiting these three streets will be unpredictable, especially the entire length of Stony Run Lane. Once the milling has been completed on a particular street, vehicles may transit and may also park over night.
(4) Parking Thursday Night: Vehicles may park overnight on Stoneyford and on both North and South Stony Run Lane once they have been milled. However, all vehicles must vacate the above streets by 7:30 AM Friday morning so the crew can begin paving. No exceptions and please be prompt to avoid the risk of being towed.
Because both the milling and paving may encounter unforeseen impediments and unexpected changes in the schedule, please be patient. I will be monitoring the work both in the morning and in the afternoon and will give another status update about this time on Thursday afternoon.
