Update for February 18: Water Pipe Replacement, Stony Run Lane
February 17, the crew started working South from Stoneyford Rd on Stony Run Lane toward 39th. Unfortunately the crew was only able to lay one 20 foot section of pipe today because of a Gray Honda Civic New Jersey license plate number X23 RBF parked on the right side of the street headed South on Stony Run Lane from Stoneyford.
Kenny (DPW field Supervisor) and I met with building personnel for Hopkins House, and the Broadview and Woodcliffe Manor this morning trying to identify the owner of the Honda, but to no avail. It does not appear to be in any of the resident databases. We do not know if it is a resident or visitor’s vehicle—it has been parked there since last week at least.
The crew was very generous today to leave it in place and work up to/around it and not call for towing. However tomorrow morning (Wednesday), if it is not moved, it will be towed for sure. If you know the owner of the New Jersey Honda Civic, please reach out to them and ask them to move their vehicle by 7:00 AM.
Work was also impeded somewhat because Stony Run Lane has a spider web (my description) of all kinds of pipes, cables, etc. underneath the pavement that the crew needs to thread the water pipe through/under the maze.
February 18: the crew will continue to move up the hill and South on Stony Run Lane toward 39th Street. If all goes well and there are no impediments they should be approaching the lower area of Hopkins House. Because of the transit of dump trucks, pipeline delivery trucks and especially the narrowness of Stony Run Lane, all vehicles should vacate Stony Run Lane between Stoneyford and 39th (including the vehicles presently parked near the corner on Stony Run Lane and 39th) by 7:00 AM through 3 or 4 PM. Please advise residents to observe the no parking signs on the barrels.
Also, any resident using indoor parking of the Hopkins House garage should exit by 7:00 AM to avoid being stuck in the garage. The crew usually finishes their work by 3 PM or 4:00 PM so residents can return to use the garage overnight. Just exit by 7 AM.
As usual, the crew will continue to use the 5 space parking lot in front of the Tuscany as their staging area.
