The Colonnade (Built 1988)

The Colonnade is both a condominium and a hotel, each occupying their own side. The Colonnade has traditional features that relate well to the neighborhood.  The brick exterior connects with the row houses behind it and the Hopkins campus in front of it.There was strong neighborhood opposition to the building of the Colonnade, partly because of its projected size and also because the plans included a hotel, condominiums, shops, a restaurant.  The neighborhood argued that it would increase population density and traffic.  Despite some design modifications and increase in parking requirements, the building does hold a 125-suite hotel and 123 condominiums with underground parking for the residences and the hotel. The design was modified to include the neighborhood’s objection to the parking entrance on Canterbury Road which was relocated in the final plan to enter the building from University Parkway.

The Colonnade residences stand 11-stories tall.  It is a full service, luxury condominium building with 123 residences with views of Hopkins University, the city skyline, and lovely gardens. The residence building is attached to The Inn at the Colonnade, a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. The residents of The Colonnade can enjoy all the amenities of the hotel including a modern fitness center, residents lounge, meeting rooms, concierge service, tennis courts, running track and restaurants. The building comes with deeded parking, a full-service doorman and 24-hour front desk staff.
