Ridgemede Apartments (1940)

The last apartment building built before World War II was the Ridgemede, another product of the Mullan Construction Company. The tudor style matches the homes on Ridgemede and Tuscany Roads. The building is long and low and follows the slope of the hill down toward Linkwood.  The hillside was a challenge: it was solved by constructing a building where you enter on the third floor,  and either go up two flights or down two flights. The building was placed so as to provide space for trees and a garden all around the building. The garden extends to the roof of the building’s garage.
