SUMMARY:Goats on the Slope in Wyman Park Dell
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Wyman Park Dell are fundraising to bring back goats to help manage vegetation. Photo via GoFundMe.\n\n\nFor the third time since 2020\, The Friends of Wyman Park organization is bringing in goats to munch away at overgrown vegetation on ‘BMA Slope\,’ the steep hillside that frames one end of the park. \nThe goats will be coming from Prosperity Acres\, a farm in Sunderland\, Maryland\, to graze on the slope as part of the non-profit group’s long-term plan for managing invasive plants in the Dell. \n“Our goat guests…will arrive in the park some time on Friday\, October 25 and will get to grazing on Saturday\, October 26\,” the group said in a message on social media. “They will stick around for as long as there is foliage to eat.” \nThe organization has launched a Go(at) Fund Me drive to help pay for the effort at: tinyurl.com/GoatsontheSlope. The goal is $4\,000. \n“Our 2020 and 2022 Goats on the Slope projects were incredibly successful thanks to the generous support of our neighbors\,” the group said in its message. “We need your help to fund the project again. Please consider making a donation to bring the goats back to the Dell this fall.” \nMore information about The Friends of Wyman Park Dell is at www.wymanparkdell.org.
